Jane and Doug's Wedding

Our last wedding of the year with Jane and Doug was a terrific day. Jane had her heart set on having Bondi Beach as one of her photo locations and even though it was raining I made the call to go there anyway and my decision paid off because the rain stopped and the light was particularly soft and flattering. It was fun to shoot on the famous Australian land mark and all the beach goers were fascinated to see a bride and groom having a great time being photographed on the beach. The ceremony and the reception were held at the famous Westin Hotel and everything went like clock work thanks to Jane’s colour coded running sheet. Jane and Doug have really great friends and family and it was lovely to see some familiar faces at the wedding again and Juanita and look forward to seeing them in the New Year too.

Jane and Doug

Jane and Doug are having their wedding at the Westin Hotel on Saturday, this week they also jetted in from Hong Kong ( abit of a Hong Kong connection this week) where they are based and we had a chance to shoot some pre wedding images down in the Rocks and then get reacquainted before their big day. We photographed Jane’s brother Alan and Janice’s wedding last year and it will lovely to see them again after living in the UK for the last year plus it sounds that there will be a whole lot of familiar faces at the reception too. We are hoping to shoot on Bondi Beach before the wedding so I hope the weather will be fine otherwise we will have to stay in the city.

Helen and Peter from Hong Kong

I have been shooting the family portraits for Helen and Peter every year for about six years now and photographed them again yesterday in a park in Darling Point. They live in Hong Kong and travel back to Australia each Christmas to see friends and family and they arrange each trip to include a family photo shoot. It is always a pleasure to photograph them and it is such a great privilege to be entrusted to document their family expanding and growing up. Lauren, Megan and Kristen are such lovely kids and so well behaved and heaps of fun to photograph.

Sandra and John's wedding

Sandra and John’s wedding was stylish and elegant, Sandra looked gorgeous in her Maria Chiodo designed gown. The ceremony was held at the very grand Our Lady of Victories church at Wetherill Park and the reception was held at the equally grand Curzon Hall. We were hoping that the rain would hold off for us during the photo session but as soon as we arrived at the location it started to drizzle and some times it got quite heavy but John and Sandra were just amazing and nothing could faze them. They were so easy to work with and as John said they were like clay in my hands. I even had Sandra balancing high on a ledge with the rain tumbling down which made for some great images. Couples often ask what happens with the photos if it rains but it is normally not too much of a problem and we always manage to get some great images.

Michelle and Andrew's wedding

We had a great time at Andrew and Michelle’s wedding yesterday, they were the very lucky winners of this years Mix 106.5 FM Ultimate Wedding Contest at the Sydney Bridal Expo which is superbly organized by the fantastic team at Graham Stroud Events and Marketing. . Their name was selected in April and they received prizes from some of Sydney’s best wedding vendors including the reception at the fabulous Waters Edge Restaurant, hire cars from the great guys at Open Air Cars, as well as a whole range of wedding stuff including hair and make up, harps, invitations, honeymoon, dress and suit hire and of course photography from Taylor-Made Photography. Not only were they so lucky winning the prize but they were also lucky with the storms that have been pelting down rain and hail around Sydney over the last couple of weeks. The rain started as Michelle entered the church and rained heavily through out the ceremony and then stopped just in time for all the guests to congratulate Andrew and Michelle outside the church, the timing could not have been better.
Michelle and Andrew are very loving and caring people and it was a pleasure to photography their day, you can see the great karma they have to attract such a fantastic prize. The whole bridal party were fun too and we had a few laughs together.
We are trialing a new service where guests can order pictures of themselves taken at the wedding over the internet and our new partner lab C41 will print and post out their order. Paula did a great job snapping all the guests at the church and reception and those pics can be seen by going to our website and following the client login link. The pass word is the groom’s surname.

Asilda and John's Family

It is really great to see old wedding clients again, Trudi had shot John and Asilda’s wedding over nine years ago and now it was time to photograph the kids before they get to old. I photographed their kids as toddlers a few years ago and it was lovely to see them growing into fine young teenagers.
The shoot went really well and even though the kids were a bit shy at first it was a fun morning.
