Wendy and Georges Wedding

Wendy and George enjoyed a fine and warm winters day for their wedding on Saturday and we had a great time recording their special event.
George and Wendy both got ready at their parents homes which added a lovely family touch. The ceremony was held at the grand Greek Church in Redfern and their reception was the lovely La Aqua reception venue in Darling Harbour.
Wendy and George are really lovely people who gave us almost three hours for photos after the ceremony and we took advantage of all this time to photograph them around the city. It was great to have this time because it made the making of the images so relaxed and we made a wonderful and varied collection of images for them and I think Wendy’s only regret was not working in her shoes before the wedding.

Mei and Weng published in the Sunday paper

Our wedding from a couple of weeks ago with Mei and Weng made this past Sunday's Sun Herald newspaper. Which was cool to see!
We also have one of our weddings coming up in a Sun Herald feature in the next few weeks so we can look forward to that.

Connie and Michael's wedding

Trudi and I had a wonderful time photographing Connie and Michael’s wedding in the Blue Mountains yesterday. It was a beautiful day and Connie looked equally amazing in her traditional red Chinese dress and her white vintage style wedding dress. It was an early start at Connie’s parent’s home in Sydney because it is custom at some Chinese weddings for the groom to meet the bride before the ceremony. Before the groom is aloud to enter her home and take her he must pass some door games which included eating Wassabi, doing strange exercises, singing to the bride and even having some hair waxed.
He passed all the tests with flying colours and we headed to the Hydro Majestic Hotel for the civil ceremony with its Art Deco ambience and wonderful Blue Mountains views it was the perfect location for the wedding.

Juanita in Canada

As you may know Juanita is in Canada to visit her sister Melissa and husband Richard and also welcome the arrival of thir first child. Below is the email she sent:

My beautiful niece, Sydney Isabella Remmer, finally arrived 8 days late, at 4:06pm on my birthday. She weighed in at 7lbs 12oz and both mum and baby are doing well. Melissa went into the hospital first thing on the morning of the 12th to be induced, but after many hours her doctor decided that the best course of action was to bring Sydney into the world via a c-section. Rich was a little nervous about going into the operating room, but when all was said and done, he couldn't be more pleased.

Congratulations everyone, what a buetiful baby!! We are so pleased for you. We will do a special family portrait for you when you all come to Sydney.
We miss Juanita and see you soon.

Leah and Tom's wedding

Tom and Leah who are a lovely and much in love couple had a really relaxed wedding today which was a delight to photograph. Leah wore a Collette Dinnigan designed wedding gown that suited her so well and their nuptials took place in a small Greek church in Darlinghurst which was intimate and friendly. The priest mentioned that there had only been three weddings there this year. Tom and Leah were introduced to us by a couple who Trudi photographed two years ago, Milton and Rosemary. It was very nice to see them again and to meet their lovely daughter. The beautiful reception was held at the Post restaurant which is just below the Westin Hotel. Tom's speech which was all spontanious was the best we had heard for a long time and the whole main table including Leah had tears.

Hanneke and Alex's Pre wedding shoot

This post got lost in cyberspace a few weeks ago so we are re posting it today.
Trudi Photographed Hanneke and Alex's pre wedding portrait in the Rocks on a sunny Autumn day. The pre shoot is designed to help the couple and the photographer break the ice and build rapport together as well as to get some more natural images of the Bride and Groom in a more relaxed way. Most couples have not been photographed professionally before so it is a good way to see how the process works and in most cases people find out that having your picture taken is a whole lot of fun.
