Elizabeth and Matt's wedding day.

Elizabeth and Matt's friday wedding was a blast to photograph, they are such a great couple, easy going and relaxed. They had the perfect wedding day and i remembered thinking that it doesn't get any better than this. Wonderful weather with awesome lighting, a fun bridal party that were happy to do what ever it takes to get a great picture and a couple who just look fantastic in every image.
The ceremony location at Observatory hill was as always picture perfect, what was special for Matt and Elizabeth was that two of their cousins were able to perform the music during the ceremony although the double bass was a bit of a handful to get up there.
What was also cool was getting to the reception at La Aqua in Darling Harbour to be greeted by two couples whose weddings i had shot more than a few years ago, Pip and Shaun and Katie and Kent who remembered me and still love their own wedding photos. It was wonderful to see them again.

Baby Kateland

Here is a lovely baby pic that i shot this morning of baby Kateland, what i like apart from her serious expression is the building blocks. They worked so well and were a great prop for the shoot. It amazes me that something so simple can add so much to the story of a picture.

Matt and Chheng pre wedding shoot

The weather was beautiful yesterday afternoon at Nelson park where i photographed Matt and Chheng's pre wedding session. This was a special location for them as it was one of the first places they went on a date to. Apparently Matt was quite romantic bring Gerber's and tea lights to set the mood. Matt and Chheng are a lovely couple who seem to be so suited to each other, they changed their wedding date from Saturday to Sunday so i could shoot their wedding as i was away in Fiji to photographing Paula and Davids wedding and that was really nice of them.
As the photos show Matt was like Tarzan picking Chheng up with one hand to save her from a freak wave that had come in.

what happens if it rains?????

The number one question most brides ask when discussing their wedding prior to the event is: What happens if it rains??
and some times when the heavens open up and we get six weeks worth of rain in one day, every one is going to get a little wet but by choosing a professional experienced wedding photographer and having a little fun with it everything will turn out OK.

Miho and lydia's wedding

Today’s wedding with Miho and Lydia was a little different, the Bride wore blue and the bridesmaids white. The day started early at the Intercontinental hotel and even though it was raining pretty heavily I knew we were going to have a fun day. It was very pleasing for Sydney’s wedding photographer Taylor-made photography to be commissioned to record this wedding. Lydia looked amazing in her dress, which was finished off beautiful with a Swarovsky pendant and earrings. Married earlier in the year this was their celebration for their Sydney friends and family. We managed to create a range of really nice pictures in the Botanical Gardens before the rain really became to drenching and we finished of their shoot at the very nice Aqua Dining where they were to have lunch with their 40 odd guests.
The day ran so smoothly mainly due to the diligent work of our event coordinator and good friend Jennifer Michaels. It was great to see her again.

Mother's Day

I created this lovely portrait of Patrick and his mother at Ameila and John's wedding yesterday and it reminded me that mothers day is soon approaching and how wonderful and important it is to have a memorable portrait with your mum. You only have one mum and the images I have of my mother mean the world to me. There is no better reason than mothers day to have a portrait commissioned.

Friday is a such a nice day to have a wedding, every one loves a day off from the routine of the working week and what better excuse than a wedding. Although a little cloudy and a bit rainy Ameila and John never stopped laughing and having the best time. The ceremony was held at the sacred Heart church in Mosman by a close family friend and so the message of love and marriage was a very personal one for them mixed with humor and emotion. Although the speeches were probably a bit more emotional from all the wonderful participants judging by the amount of tears that flowed. The Gunners Barracks tea rooms is such a wonderful venue with an amazing view complemented by fine food and wonderful service. Ameila and John's wedding was such a wonderful privilege for Sydney wedding photographer Taylor-made Photography to be involved with.

Adriana and Paul's Wedding day

Adriana and Paul had a fantastic wedding on Saturday here is a sneak peak at some of their more artistic images we here at Sydney's Taylor-made Photography were able to produce.
Paul and Adriana are a lovely couple and it was a real privilege to photograph their wedding. We knew it was going to be a romantic day with Adriana getting ready at the "Amore" Hotel and there were plenty of smiles, laughs and tears. It was full of surprises as well, Paul had arrange big guy and Lazy J from last seasons x factor tv show to serenade them during the reception which was an outstanding success.

Amelia and John

Amelia and John's pre wedding shoot this morning was lots of a fun and filled with laughter and humor. They are a lovely couple who will be getting married in a few short weeks at the sacred heart church in Mosman and then their reception will be held at the awesome Gunners Barracks also in Mosman.

Dane and Liette

Shooting pre wedding portraits for me has always been an enjoyable experience because its a great way to connect with couples, learn how they feel about each other, help them over come any fears or anxiety they might have. It can be pretty intimidating being in front of a camera for the first time and this type of shoot not only serves to alleviate those concerns but helps the couple gain confidence in my artistic and photographic abilities. Dane and Liette are a fantastic and very much in love couple who will be having their wedding on Hamilton Island in a few short months. It is always such a lovely compliment to be chosen to photograph weddings in far off places.

Have not posted for some weeks but i had to share this Art print I photographed recently. What i love about this image is that all the elements work together to create this wonderful picture. The young girls choice of dress, the location set amongst the trees and her engaging connection to the camera.

Driveline Magazine shoot

On occasions I photograph for Drive line Magazine which is a magazine devoted to the trucking industry. I like photographing editorial work with the different challenges compared to photographing weddings. Yesterday I met a great guy Billy Bastian who operates with his father a water cart hire company. Basically on building sites and road works the dust has to be settled and they use water carts with sprayers to keep the dust manageable. They recently purchased a Mercedes truck which Billy says rides just as well as his ML320 and it was my job to photograph him and the truck in action for the article.

Tarisse and Sarrita King Aboriginal Artists

Recently I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and photograph Tarisse and Sarrita King. They are both the rising stars of Indigenous Australian art and are highly regarded by the Aboriginal art community. Tarisse captures a complex and varied soul of the land and is very much influenced by her also notable artist father William King.
Sarrita's inspiration is the amazing environment she grew up within the Northern Territory, from the big rains to the lightning storms and the constantly changing earth.
The pair work from their fathers studio in Adelaide and it was great to be able to photograph them in front of their art works. In fact by chance after the shoot as they left in the elevator they happened to sell one of the paintings to one of the other business owners in the building.

Alisters first birthday

I had photographed An and Kit's wedding a few years ago and today they celebrated the first birthday of their son Alister with a family photo shoot. It was great to see them both again and Alister was such a joy to photograph. He has got some lovely expressions and he is just so engaging.
