Corporate Rowing
Our daughters Taylor and Dillon are both involved with their schools rowing team as coxs and on Sunday it was the parents turn to give it a go to raise money for the school. The generous people at Taylor-made Photography sponsored our seats in the boat and we had a terrific time. It was a buetiful day to be on the river at Penrith and we can now say that we have both rowed on an Olympic course. We trained twice a week for about four weeks at the incredible time of 5.30am in the morning, we even trained that day Sydney was blanketed in fog. That was a bit scarry not being able to see two feet in front of us and we kept saying it is going to lift soon but it never did. Rowing is such a technical sport I never realilised all the things you need to know to get the boat moving evenly through the water. We had to race in two heats and then the final and we were lucky enough to come third. Thanks to Liz who is a great coach and thanks to the rest of our crew for making it a really fun experience, especially Margie who I contiually soaked during every race.
