Matt and Belinda

Matt and Belinda had a very special wedding at Shelly Beach on Thursday. It was special for a number of reasons, Matt’s parents and sister as well as lots of friends flew out from the UK, Belinda looked gorgeous in her Colette Dinigan dress, Matt looked like Daniel Craig in his Politix gear that coincidently they bought from Rebecca and Chris whose wedding I shot last February, the weather was not to hot for this time of year and they had the perfect wedding setting at the La Kiosk restaurant. The wedding was a little different because we shot the portrait location before the ceremony and one of the special moments was when Matt saw Belinda for the first time. They came together in an embrace that lasted for few minutes he could not keep his eyes of her, it was really nice. Matt was pretty emotional through the ceremony but picked it up with a great speech later in the evening and the hylite of the evening was the Tango Bridal waltz that they performed brilliantly.

Thank You Card from Farris and Helena

I just have to say it is great to feel appreciated. Farris and Helana's wedding is not until next March and we recently completed their pre wedding shoot. When they came to view their pictures the other night they had a gift of choclates and biscuits for me as well as a really nice thank you card. The message was lovely and made my day.

Paula and Dazza

Paula helps me out at weddings when Juanita is unavailable and it is great to have her as part of the team. We were having a great time at Kim and Anton's wedding the other day and I thought it might be fun to post a few pics of us messing around. Paula works at Tarronga Zoo as a guests photographer so she is great with people has a good eye for photography and is just fun to have around.

New Studio Pics

Everyone has been asking about our new studio and so I decided to post a few pics. We will be working from there after our holiday break and we are so looking forward to beginning a further chapter of the Taylor-Made Photography story.
We have had the concrete floor polished and the aggregate has created a textured and scattered appearance. All the walls have been painted in a dulux white so the images which will be presented under Perspex will stand out.
We are still going through the process of choosing images for display; it is a really hard task when you have so many fine images to choose from. Bit like a wedding album I think. Our chandelier is from Blue illusion at Balmain and our other funky lights from Alex Noble creations in Bondi. The lounge originally from Space furniture is from our old studio which we have had reupholstered. Stay tuned as I will be posting more pics when the display prints are up.

Alan and Janice's wedding.

We had a wonderful wedding today with Janice and Alan. They are incredibly nice people with loving parents and friends. They live in the UK and they had to organize things long distance using the internet and friends recommendations. They were introduced to us by our good friends Mona and Andrew whose wedding we shot earlier in the year, their wedding album is amazing and it was great to hear all the positive feedback from the album design and to see them again tonight.
Janice and Alan are also related to Carmen and Karlson whose wedding we shot last October and it was lovely seeing them and their family so soon again as well. Your album is in production and looking fantastic. It will be ready in the not too distant future. Janice and Alan’s wedding was celebrated at the Gazebo at Balmoral Beach and the reception was held at the Shangri La Hotel.
Juanita and I had a blast shooting your wedding and thank you for the great mention in the speeches.

Putri and Andrew's Wedding

A little ray of Sunshine: Juanita and Trudi managed to miss the rain when shooting Andrew and Putri’s wedding. The wedding started off with a very relaxed Bride at the Shangri La Hotel and then to the most popular church in Sydney St Peters Channel and then to the Imperial Peking Restaurant in the Rocks. In between Trudi took some terrific images at the Chinese Gardens in Darling Harbour. Andrew gave a very heartfelt and emotional speech during the reception. He has four sisters and was showing his femine side. AS it turns out we filmed the wedding of one of his sisters Michelle over ten years ago. They had ten courses during the reception and Trudi mentioned that she would be happy not see any more Chinese food for a while.

Susan and Karl's wedding

Yesterday I photographed Susan and Karl’s wedding. Karl is originally from Invercargill, a town located on the lower side of the south island of New Zealand and we were joking that he brought the cold and rainy weather with him. Susan looked stunning in her Maria Chiodo dress and Simona did a wonderful job with her make up. Chris from Moore’s floral concepts did a great job producing beautiful bouquets for Susan and Jules. They were married in the crypt of St Mary’s Cathedral which is a lovely alternative to the main church, a little bit more intimate. This part of the church is quite dark and they had arranged for guests to place a candle on the alter before the ceremony and that is something I had never seen before. The reception was held at the lovely Quay restaurant on top of the overseas passenger terminal over looking the awesome Sydney Harbour.
Even though it was raining for most of the day we managed to get some fantastic pictures and I must say the secret is that the Bride and Groom took the conditions in their stride and didn’t let it spoil their day.

Audrey and Grace

With organising the new studio and at the height of wedding season I have not had the time to shoot a lot of portraits and I had forgotten how much fun they are. I had photographed Audrey two years ago for the Kids of Sydney event and this time it was little Grace's turn. The kids were just so good to photograph, they had really playful and smiley expressions and they are just so cute. Little Audrey gave me a little cuddle after we had finished so that was special. What was a great thrill for me was to see the finished portraits of Audrey that I had taken two years ago hanging so proudly in their home.

Kate and Mark's Wedding

Yesterday we had a wonderful wedding in the Hunter Valley with Mark and Kate. It is always great to do a destination wedding away from Sydney. Weddings away have a real party feeling, I think it is because the guests and families are in holiday mode. Everyone was so friendly and loved been photographed, it was very hot though about 33 degrees but plenty of water was provided by the Bride and Groom. They both live in Brisbane and found us through the internet so that’s cool. Their church at Wollombi St Michaels was one of those cute sandstone churches that you only get in the country and their reception was at the Bimbadgen Estate winery. The highlight of the evening was the Fireworks display put on by Kate and Mark during the dancing. Aussies love fireworks and it was a rousing success with all the guests applauding and cheering. I just want to thank Stone Hurst winery for letting us use their location for photos, Bimbadgen Estate for their lovely meals and Steve our car driver for leading the way and providing refreshments.

Taylor wins rowing race

One of the unfortunate things about being a working parent especially one that works on the weekend is that occasionally you miss out on seeing your children’s sporting achievements. I came home on Saturday night to find out that earlier in the day Taylor and her crew at the Roseville Regatta had one their first rowing race of the season. It was one of those come from behind wins where with 500 metres to go they were in sixth position and then over the last part of the race they powered through to win. The girls were so excited about winning their cheers and screams could be heard from the shoreline. Congratulations to Taylor, Erin, Justine, Issy and Kate all the hard work and early mornings is staring to show. Maria their coach and Peter Hughes the rowing master deserve special attention for developing the girls in to a great crew. All of the efforts that you guys put in are very much appreciated. I also want to mention how excited our other awesome daughter Dillon was about her big sister winning the race. Taylor your mum and I are very proud of you. Keep it up you and your crew is headed for great things. By the way all the pics from the Regatta were taken with Trudi’s camera phone.

Helena and Farris

At the end of my hectic week and well the beginning of my hectic weekend I also photographed the engagement shoot of Helena and Farris. These guys are a lovely couple who have their first wedding planned for March next year here in Sydney and their second wedding a week later in Indonesia. Helena and Farris are so sweet; Helena brought a second pair of shoes for the shoot, one comfy pair to walk around in a second cool pair to be photographed in. We got to know them from the Bridal expo at the beginning of the year and I know you guys are avid blog viewers, so sorry it has taken me so long to post your images. It is just a crazy time here at Taylor-made with organizing the new studio and getting things ready for our grand opening.
