Fiona and Adams wedding day

Adam and Fiona’s wedding yesterday was filled with laughter, fun and most all love. It was for Juanita and me a special treat to record their special union which began early at Adam’s home and progressed to the Hills Lodge where Fiona and her bridesmaids prepared and then on to Parramatta for the ceremony and finally to the lovely Doltone House for the lavish reception in the Loft room.
Fiona’s heritage is Chinese and we ventured to the picturesque Chinese gardens in Darling Harbour for the afternoon photo shoot which was amazing. Of course there were other Chinese themes through out the day as well like the beautiful fans and parasols the bridesmaids held, the traditional tea ceremony and the remarkable Dragon dancers that started the reception off in great style.
Fiona and Adam have very loving families and wonderful friends and it was great to see so many people enjoy themselves at their wedding.

Stacey and Brett engagement session

The wind chill factor on Saturday was pretty cold and Brett had been sick for a few days so I suggested we shoot their pre wedding portrait in the studio. Photo shoots in the studio are something I would like to do a whole lot more of and it was great to use our space for something a bit diffrent. Stacey and Brett are having their wedding later in the year and I think Brett was happy to find out that the photo thing is pretty painless.

Victoria's family shoot

Victoria was the highest bidder for a family portrait gift session we donated to help with fund raising at our daughters school MLC. We are always happy to help schools with fund raising and Victoria mentioned how popular our donation was, she said the bidding was pretty intense.

Alice our work experience girl's images

Here are a couple of images that Alice our work experience kid took at the portraits
shoot on Saturday.
I asked her to take the kids for a few a pics after the photo session and she jumped at the chance which I think is a really good sign. It showed me that she was confident and wanting to take pictures which is a very healthy attitude for some one wanting a carreer in photography. We have had other work experience kids in the past who say they want to be photographers but when you give them the camera they freeze and can't or won't take any pictures.

Work experience

This week we had the company of Alice, the work experience kid from the MLC school. She was lovely to have around, a diligent worker, enthusiastic and a keen photographer. Her portfolio of landscapes she has displayed on the net is very good and I can see she has a great eye.
Juanita loved having another set of hands to help her with production and Alice's Mac experience came in handy.
This morning she helped out on two portraits we had with Stacey and Brett and Bill and Victoria's family, who incedently won the photo session and portrait prize at audtion which was a fund raiser for the MLC school

ABS Bridal Fair

Juanita and I spent this last weekend speaking with hundreds of different Brides and Grooms who are getting married in the coming months and years and it was great to meet so many excited couples enjoying their wedding planning experience. This years show had over two hundred exhibitors from photographers to venues to cars to entertainers and it was really fun to see some old wedding industry friends again as well as make some new friends.
It was wonderful to meet up with our good friends Alana, Steven and Lauren from Moi Moi fine jewellery, Virginia from the invitation studio, Belle from Bella for make up and our new friend Salvatore Coco who is a great singer and MC who really helped us get through those quite times.
We even got our photos taken with Elvis and Michael Jackson.

Lisa and Steve Pre Wedding

Trudi recently shot a great pre wedding portrait session with Lisa and Steve. They are having their wedding later in the year at the very popular and picturesqe Watersedge at pier one. The photographs were taken in a romantic corner of the Rocks and I must say how relaxed Steve and Lisa look.

Village Voice (A wedding every weekend is one man's dream job)

Out of the blue Ashlee Betteridge, a journalist from the Village voice called for a chat about wedding photography. The Village voice is one of the most well respected local papers in our area and I was stoked to be the featured business this week. I received plenty of calls from friends who saw the article and they all commented on how well the article was written by Ashlee and it really capped of a whole month of great articles featuring Taylor-made Photography.

Maya and Ricky

Ricky and Maya are having their wedding at the Star Room above Darling Harbour later in the year and on Saturday we had a fun time shooting their pre wedding photo session.
Maya had used the occasion to test out her make up plans with a trial that morning and she looked great; I loved her mod looking jacket she purposely bought for the shoot also.

They both look so happy together and the red umbrella was a fantastic accessory to have on the shoot. Maya is thinking she should get some more for her bridal party which I think is a good idea because it gives another element to the pictures.
