Lily and Jason's Wedding day

The luckiest day for Lily and Jason to be married according to their birth dates which is an old Asian custom was the 16th of December which happened to be a Tuesday. Eerily though it seemed like a Saturday for Juanita and I. We think it was because school holidays have started and that everyone is gearing up for the festive season.
Their wedding started early at 8am for the traditional Chinese tea ceremonies and continued late in the night at the Vila Capri reception centre and so for Juanita and I it was a mammoth 17 hour day but Lily and Jason where so excited and enthusiastic about their photos that day seemed to go in a flash. Lily and Jason were in the bridal party from a wedding we shot two years ago with Quan and Kiam and it was really nice to see those guys and their families again.
Lily looked amazing and her smile was fantastic. She had her braces taken off just prior to the wedding and her Orthodontist Derek Mahoney did a great job. He is the same guy who we are using for Dillon, my daughter's teeth so I was stoked to see such fantastic results.

Lisa and Eric's Pre Wedding Portrait

Friday afternoon was teaming with rain but Eric and Lisa wanted to go ahead with their portrait session and I love the challenge of shooting in difficult situations like rain because I always feel that it brings the best out in me and I like the mood a rainy day can bring. Maybe I should set up a studio in Melbourne or London lol
Eric and Lisa are a lovely couple who photograph very well and they have a natural presence in all the photos. They met through friends and Eric called the next day to ask Lisa out for coffee, she was thrilled of course because she did not have to wait the two extra days that guys normally take to phone a girl.
Their wedding is in May next year which is really just around the corner and should be a fun and exciting day.
After the shoot we had dinner together at the Outback steak house which was very nice and the steaks there are massive.

Penny and Aris

Here is a great shot that Arthur, one of the groomsmen took of Juanita and I with Penny and Aris. Juanita was channelling her best Victoria Beckham and I was having a bad hair day, the Bride and Groom they just look fantastic. It was a fun day and it was fun to get a picture with these two lovely people.

Penny and Aris wedding

Every meeting we have had with Penny and Aris during our time together has been filled with laughter and fun and their wedding day was no different. They consider Juanita and I as family which is such a lovely sentiment. The day started out once again with the threat of rain and it seems that these days in Sydney that the working week is fine and sunny but Saturdays seem to always have the chance of rain.
Penny was radiant the whole day and I love her fantastic smile and Aris was equally as handsome and so happy to be finally marrying Penny.
For me some of the best shots were taken in this little ally way in Paddington, it where the light was magical and the romance seemed to amplify between Aris and Penny.
One of the most important factors to a great wedding is the Bridal attendants and Penny and Aris friends and relatives are some of the nicest people you would ever want to meet, their enthusiasm, humor and style made what is normally a long day seem so much easier and seeing 12 people in a one meter alley way all having so much fun was so cool.
Juanita and I thank you Penny and Aris for giving us such a great day.

Lisa and Steve's wedding

Lisa and Steve had planned to have their wedding out side the Waters Edge reception centre which has the beautiful back drop of Sydney Harbour. But because of the unseasonably cold and raining conditions the ceremony was held in doors. This however took nothing away from the beautiful and loving sentiment that Lisa and Steve have for each other. They included a sand mixing ceremony where they each poured different colored sand in to a jar and then sealed it. The different colored sand created a wonderful pattern and signified there different personalities and backgrounds.
This wedding was full of fun and laughter and it was hard to take a bad photo of Steve and Lisa because they were so happy. This wedding will always be remembered for many reasons and I want to thank Steve and Lisa for believing in me and for being very understanding and it meant a lot to me that you were happy and glad I was able to photograph your wedding.
