Amanda and George E session

Today I shot the engagement session for Amanda and George; they are having their wedding in March of next year. The light was really nice because of the light rain that was falling and although we got caught in the rain a few times it was a fun shoot. Amanda and George are so good at being natural in front of the camera that I was sure they had been photographed before. They want to design a save the date card around the images I took today.
A save the date card is a less formal way of giving friends and family time to prepare for the wedding date, especially from overseas or interstate as these cards are sent out well in advance of the formal invitation, they give people a longer time to make travel arrangements.
Their wedding reception will be at the QVB Tea Rooms which is a lovely venue with awesome food and great service. We photographed Carmen and Karlson’s wedding there last October and I am looking forward to shooting there again.

Fashion shoot with MOIMOI

Yesterday was a hectic day in the studio with a fashion shoot for our good friends Lauren and Alana from MoiMoi fine Jewellery. They specialize and are the exclusive importers of the amazing Moissanite stone that has more sparkle than diamonds. The shoot brought together three very cool and talented women, Ali Mutch former FHM swimsuit model of the decade, Isabella Schmidt make up artist to the stars, who has worked with Americas next top model and can be contacted through her agent at www.samiam.com.au plus of course the Trudi former NSW photographer of the year, Aipp master photographer, former Trans Tasman Trophy winner and amazing mother of two. Juanita was great as she always is assisting by shooting candid’s and changing lighting etc and well I stayed in the background so I wouldn’t effect the girl chi that was happening. It was a great day and if you like cool Jewellery check out MoiMoi there link on the side and they now have a very cool men’s range.

1000 Rooster Wins

After starting the season in dreadful fashion with 0 for 5 record my team the Sydney Roosters finally won today beating the St George Dragons 18 points to 4. It is great to finally get a win and it was also the clubs 1000th victory in its 100 year history.
Anasta had a fantastic game and he has been one of the Roosters best all year. Good Luck to him, it is amazing what a bit of passion can do I hope he can harness this to keep the team playing well for the rest of the year. Now that the 1000 victories has been completed I hope that monkey is off our back. (we have been on 999 victories for over 8 months)

ANZAC DAY

Today was Anzac day, the day Australians celebrate and say thankyou to men and women of the armed forces who fought in past and present wars and gave their lives to make this nation great. Lest we Forget. It is also day that we hope our gallant soldiers in far off countries are safe and will return to their loved ones very soon. With the politics aside you men and women are doing a fantastic job and we thank you very much.

Dimi and James

Dimi and James are so in to each other and for Juanita and me it was lovely to be involved in their special day. They just sparkled every time they got close to each other and you can see through their expressions that they felt really comfortable doing the photos. James was a trooper as well; he had a headache ever since being pelted with the rice outside the church.
Dimi looked sensational and the bridesmaids looked gorgeous in their Nicky Velani creations, she and her team are just superb at creating that great look.
We shot most of the location shoot in Prymont; it is a lovely spot because of the variety of backgrounds available and the soft light because of the tall buildings. It is also great because not a lot of photographers know about it and makes Taylor-made Photography stand out from our competitors who go to the same places each week. The reception was held at the La Montage function centre in Leichhardt and it was great to see Salvatore, Rob and all the boys again.
During the day the bride and groom traveled in style with Amore wedding cars. They have very slick Mercedes limos and convertibles and Sam’s wife makes the very best sandwiches and snacks that were well received by the team of extremely hungry bridal party and photographers. We shared recording the day with Paul from Vandervideo, he helped produce our latest promo DVd that is getting rave reviews and we thank him for all his hard work with that.

Pan and Andrew

Pan and Andrew had a great wedding yesterday. They are a couple who are very much in love and extremely nice and generous people. They had both been married before but they looked like love struck teenagers yesterday. You could not keep the smiles from their faces. They planned their wedding a bit different to most, straight after the ceremony we all went next door to the funky graphic artists club where they mixed with their friends and family and had a great time. Then we went in to the city for the photo shoot and finished up at the extremely cool Wildfire restaurant in circular Quay, where they were to dine with their immediate family in the private room. It was so cool!!
It was also my birthday yesterday and the bride and groom wanted me to stay and celebrate with them but I had to pack done the bridal stand we had at the Darling Harbour exhibition centre and unfortunately I could not stay but I will never forget how everyone sang happy Birthday for me as I left. It is one of my fondness wedding working ( if you can call it work) memories of all time.

The wedding of Julia and Anthony

We had a great wedding yesterday with Julia and Anthony. It was one of those special days when things just go so well, despite it raining for most of the day. We had an awesome couple who loved being photographed and who were so natural in front of the camera, a lively bridal party with a few fun loving characters and it was a real privilege to be involved with these guys. The ceremony was held on a point over looking the Harbour in Balmain, it was very special as we were drenched in sunshine but every where you looked north, south, east and west it was raining torrentially. We were referred to Julia and Anthony by Amy and Stuart and it was lovely to see them again. They are such a lovely and friendly couple, Stuart was also MC and he gave us a great plug during the speeches. I must say one of the high lights of the day for me was the applause from the guests and the huge hug that Anthony gave me in appreciation for the slideshow of the day’s photos that we projected after the speeches. Juanita had worked hard to put together a series of the best images of the images of the day and everyone loved them.
