Weng and Mei's Wedding Day

After a stressful week of last minute rearrangements and hiccups for Mei and Weng their wedding day took place with out a hitch. It was a delight to witness a couple very much in love and to capture their special day which was full of romance, emotion, and lots of fun.
We were introduced to the happy couple by our good friend Lauren whose wedding to Justin we photographed in 2004 and it was wonderful to see her family and extended family at the reception. The day started early with the groom Weng, arriving at Mei’s apartment to offer gifts for the brides hand and then we traveled back to his apartment for the family tea ceremony. After the tea ceremony we had a lovely lunch of sushi from the local sushi express which was great and from there we spent the afternoon photographing the Bridal portraits at various locations and then we traveled to the Westin Hotel for the western ceremony and reception. The ceremony was beautifully presented by our friend from the Summer Hill days Pauline Faulkner who also happened to officiate at our daughter Dillon’s naming over 11 years ago. In another coincidence, I had photographed the bridesmaid Catherine about 9 years ago as a teenager but she didn’t recognize me until her mother remarked that I was the photographer that day. I was pretty stoked when they told me how much they love those portraits and that they still hang proudly in their home today.

Hanneke and Alex's Wedding Day

Trudi and Juanita had a fantastic time photographing the wedding of Hanneke and Alex on Saturday. After documenting the weddings of Alex’s sisters, Caroline, Fleur and Anne during the nineties it was great to see the family again and it was cool to be remembered after so many years. The day was picture perfect and Hanneke looked so beautiful and Alex was just as handsome. Their matrimony took place at Alex’s old school chapel, St Josephs or joeys as it is sometimes referred and then the reception was at Sydney’s famous Luna Park where good times and fine wine flowed through out the night. Everyone had a wonderful time and the evening was superbly coordinated by our friend and Luna Park wedding specialist Michelle Davies who we met a few years ago working at one of the big Hotels. It was great to catch up.
Hanneke and Alex wowed their friends and family with a choreographed bridal waltz routine that would have made the finals of “so you think you can dance.” I think that this type of bridal waltz is becoming very trendy and so much more fun than just swaying in the middle of the dance floor.
Trudi created some amazing pictures at Luna Park and look for some more pics in the Sun Herald soon.

Angela and Nick's Wedding

Angela and Nick who were introduced to us by Pan and Andrew whose wedding we shot last year originally wanted to marry in Greece but with many family members unable to make the journey they decided to get married here and chose the lovely Nielson Park kiosk for the venue. Angela and Nick were blessed with a great day and they were so lucky with the weather. The beach location was lovely for photos and Nick and Angela looked so much in love, it was a fun to help document their special day.

Wendy and George pre wedding shoot

It was fun to meet up again with Wendy and George and photograph their pre wedding shoot. They are both very busy city workers and this shoot was organized as a "business development meeting" in Darling Harbour.
There is funny story behind how these came to book with us for their wedding which will be at the popular La Aqua reception in Cockle Bay. They were arranging their Honeymoon plans with their travel agent when they mentioned that they were having trouble finding a photographer they felt comfortable with. It must have been fate because the travel agent mentioned that her sister had Taylor-made for her wedding and of course she was very happy and Wendy and George should go and see us. But here is where the crazy coincidence starts, a couple who happened to be sitting next to them also planning a holiday over heard the conversation and declared that we had photographed their wedding too and they were also over the moon with our photography and so the next day Wendy and George met and booked with us for their wedding. Just like Kismet something’s are meant to be but I also think it pays to do a great job and have lots of satisfied customers who are happy to talk and rave about us. So Thank you to those people who ever you are!

Matt's Elimi8ion Crew

On Tuesday I went out with Matt's crew to get some great promo shots for next year Corporate Rowing. In the few weeks that Matt has been coaching his crew, the crew have excelled so much that Sue is confident they are going home with the Corporate Cup.
